About Scotland Wide Living
Scotland Wide Living began as a place to answer the questions people tend to ask quietly: why am I always tired, is vaping really any better than smoking, what happens at a dental implant appointment, is it worth trying a supplement everyone is talking about. Over time the questions widened to cover the rest of everyday life too, from picking up a hobby to running a small business on your own terms.
Each article starts from one plain question and tries to leave you with a calm, honest answer and a sensible next step. Sometimes that step is a change you can make tonight. Sometimes it is booking an appointment with someone who can actually examine you.
What you will find here
- Health is our largest area: digestion, weight, supplements, dental treatment, smoking and vaping, and the technology that shapes hospitals and research.
- Sleep & Rest looks at tired mornings, broken nights and the small bedroom habits that make a difference.
- Lifestyle covers hobbies, pregnancy keepsakes, fitness coaching and the habits around a healthy week.
- Lifestyle Business and Freedom & Profits deal with building a small venture that fits your life rather than swallowing it.
The people behind the answers
We are four writers who publish under pen names. Senna edits every piece and keeps an eye on the digestion and general health answers. Kester writes most of what we publish about sleep and about leaving cigarettes behind. Marguerite follows supplements, pregnancy journaling and healthcare technology. Bramwell is the maker of the group and handles hobbies and the small-business side of the site.
None of us is a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, nutritionist or financial adviser, and we will not dress our articles up as if we were. What we offer is careful reading, clear writing and a habit of pointing you to the professionals who can give advice about your own situation.
How an answer gets written
A question usually reaches us from a reader email, a conversation with friends or something one of us has wondered about. We read widely around it, favouring official health services, regulators and well-established public bodies, and then write the answer in plain language. Before publishing, a second writer reads it with one question in mind: would this be safe and useful to someone who has never heard of the topic? More on that lives in How We Keep It Careful and Where Our Facts Come From.
Articles that mention products or services
Some articles on the site, including several older ones, discuss specific brands, products or services. We keep the surrounding writing balanced and add general cautions where health is concerned. A mention is never a personal recommendation for your circumstances; please weigh any product with a pharmacist, GP or another suitable professional.
Getting in touch
If something here is unclear, outdated or simply wrong, we would like to know. Our contact page explains how to reach the four of us. New to the site? The New Reader Guide suggests a few good places to begin.
The team in five lines
What to know about us
The essentials, without the small print.
Four writers publish here under pen names: Senna, Kester, Marguerite and Bramwell.
None of us holds a medical, dental, pharmacy or financial qualification, and we never write as if we did.
Every answer is read by a second writer before it is published.
The site has five areas: Health, Sleep & Rest, Lifestyle, Lifestyle Business and Freedom & Profits.
Readers reach us by email only; there is no phone line or office to visit.
